What is the level of knowledge about the focus of your safety program, amongst your teams?
Could any employee in your company clearly tell you the current focus or objective of the safety program?
For example; I believe if a team cannot explain clearly the focus of the behavioral observations, then it will be always necessary to rely on a checklist. This will lead them to run through the list to get done and move on to the next task.
Consider this, if individuals are aware of the focus of the initiative, then they would have a better sense of what they are measuring to identify if it is successful.
