The race is on for the gender equal boardroom, the gender equal workplace, a gender equal government, gender equal media coverage, gender equality in health and wealth, and more gender equality in sports coverage. The focus of International Women’s Day – March 8, 2020 – is #EachforEqual.
International Women’s Day 2020 is promoting the concept that, “An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions… We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.”
Intelex Recognizes Women in EHSQ and Technology
Intelex Technologies is recognizing a group of women for their contributions to EHSQ and technology and their support of other women in the workplace.
According to the organizers of International Women’s Day 2020 (IWD 2020), “Equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue.”
They add that “Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. A gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier, and more harmonious.” What’s not great about that?!
The IWD 2020 campaign theme supports the idea of “Collective Individualism.” According to the campaign: “We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.”
At Intelex Technologies, employees are encouraged to “embrace goodwill.” Employees are counseled to “Be a good person, put your team, company, customers and planet first. Help others. Learn about goodwill and be an advocate. Don’t be a [jerk].” Ideas and innovation win at Intelex, “regardless of the source, alliances, seniority, gender, race, color, creed, nationality or sports team affiliation of the source. Intelex seeks diversity and transparency of thought.”
It seems fitting that for International Women’s Day 2020, we are honoring a group of strong, committed, innovative, collaborative, intelligent women who are Intelexians, partners, and customers and who embody those values and embrace goodwill. These women have chosen careers in technology, environment, health, and safety.
At Intelex, employees’ highest priorities in life exist outside of the office walls: families, friends, hobbies and interests. Employees work to make these things possible for each other. “We must give more to the organization than we take. We must love what we do,” states one of our corporate values.
Although International Women’s Day is March 8, 2020, the 2020 #EachforEqual campaign runs all year long. More information can be found at InternationalWomensDay.com. Other articles in this series can be found at Intelex.com.
