The Chemical Safety Board Public Meeting on April 20 Will Update Ongoing Investigations

Richard Rosera

Of particular interest are developments in ongoing investigations which have occurred since the last CSB public meeting on February 23 - especially the decision by DuPont to permanently shut down the La Porte plant where four died from exposure to methyl mercaptan in November 2014, and the controversial authorization by California to restart full operation at the ExxonMobil Torrance Refinery, damaged by an explosion in February 2015. The meeting will be held at the CSB’s offices located at 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 910, Washington, DC, 20009 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The following dial-in number can be used to join the conference: 1 (888) 466-9863 Audience Passcode: 9257 947. An opportunity for public comments from audience members and phone participants will be provided.

In addition, the CSB recently released drafts of Volumes 3 & 4 of their long and expensive investigation of the 2010 Macondo Oil Well explosion & fire in the Gulf of Mexico: http://www.csb.gov/the-us-chemical-safety-boards-investigation-into-the-....
